The YONEX German Open is a Super 300 level tournament on the BWF World Tour and has been held since 1955. The 2025 edition was the 66th edition of the championships and held from February 25th to March 2nd, 2025 at at the Westenergie Sporthalle in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. The total prize money for the 2025 edition was US$240,000
Men’s Singles: Viktor Axelsen
In the final, Viktor Axelsen defeated the second seed, Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, with a score of 21-19, 21-18. Loh Kean Yew put up a strong fight in the final, leading in both games before Axelsen managed to secure the win. This is Axelsen’s first title at German Open tournament and second title of the year, following his win at the YONEX-SUNRISE India Open in January. Loh Kean Yew, the 2021 World Champion, was playing in his first final since winning the Madrid Spain Masters in March 2024.
Women’s Singles: Yeo Jia Min
Yeo Jia Min defeated Nguyễn Thùy Linh in the final with a score of 21-16, 21-17. This title marked Yeo Jia Min’s first Super 300 level victory and first BWF World Tour title since the 2019 Hyderabad Open. This is her biggest senior career title to date. She reached Quarter Final at PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025 and YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2025 early this year.
Men’s Doubles: Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae
Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae defeated Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov in the final with a score of 21-19, 21-17. The Korean pair had a strong run to the final, defeating the third seeds Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap in the quarter-finals and the top seeds Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in the semi-finals. This is their second title this year after they won the title at PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025. They reach the final in YONEX-SUNRISE India Open but lost to the Malaysian pair.
Women’s Doubles: Mizuki Otake and Miyu Takahashi
The Japanese pair Mizuki Otake and Miyu Takahashi defeated the Bulgarian sisters Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva in the final with a score of 21-17, 20-22, 21-12. This was Mizuki Otake and Miyu Takahashi’s first BWF World Tour title as a pair since they won at Vietnam Open 2024. The Bulgarian pair also reached the finals in the German Open 2024, but lost to Chinese pair Li Yijing and Luo Xumin.
Mixed Doubles: Robin Tabeling and Alexandra Bøje
Robin Tabeling and Alexandra Bøje defeated the unseeded Indonesian pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja with a score of 21-17, 21-12. The Netherlands/Denmark pair also defeated 2 other Indonesian mixed double pair in Round 1 and Quarter Final. This was the first BWF World Tour title as a pair.
